Funny Faces

Here are a couple of funny faces Kiera was making while I was snapping away. She is a whole 10 weeks old already! I can't believe time is flying by so quickly and she is getting so big already! (10lbs 12 oz!)
Check out that double chin! Haha... Hope you enjoy!

Little Drummer Girl

As you may know, Mike is a great drummer and has been "teaching" Katrien how to drum ever since she was a few weeks old! I thought it would be fun to capture those moments on this blog. Check it out!

And now take a look at her latest drum solo!!

Treasured Moments

We have been singing this song to Katrien for quite a while now and it is so cute to watch her learn it and sing it with us. This was one of the first times she sang along with Mike when he was getting her ready for bed. Take a look!

Strickland Family Visit Part III: Forth of July

The last part of our week I will blog about was the Forth of July, which I have significantly fewer pictures of. We went to my (Kim's) mom and dad's house for BBQ and fireworks!

I made sure to get a picture of the girls in their matching Fourth outfits.

Katrien sitting with Papa on the deck.

Katrien wasn't very happy that day due to some new teeth coming in.
April had a blast in the pool though!
We did a few fireworks brought in from over the border
(the PA border that is...haha) but don't tell on us!

Happy Birthday America and thank you to all those who are defending our freedom to this day!

Strickland Family Visit Part II: Washington DC

While the family was here we went down to Washington DC to see the sights. It isn't very often that they get to be on this side of the country you know! Also, April was learning about American history this year in school so this was a great way to reinforce that by seeing the monuments, etc.

It took about 6 hours of driving

Dad did the driving:

Katrien took a couple of naps... whew!

Kiera basically took a HUGE nap and slept almost the whole way (bigger WHEW)!

April was in charge of entertaining Katrien!
The trip there was pretty long, but we only had to stop once, which was an accomplishment. Oh, I think Kenny took a nap almost the whole way there too! :) Didn't get a picture of that though.

Johnny Rockets was our dinner of choice that night! Yum!

April was impressed with the straw dispensers! :)The next day was a jam-packed day of sightseeing and walking! I was grateful to be "eco-friendly" and walk, as well as use public transportation.
I love this pic because Katrien wanted to hold Uncle Kenny's hand as we went along!

Lincoln Memorial:This was on of the few monuments we got to see inside of.

Washington Memorial:Korean War Memorial:
(one of my favorites because of the way they captured the sacrifice so many men gave)

The police officer let the girls pet the horse while we all took a break from walking.

Grandpa took a turn pushing Katrien. The World War II Memorial
Cammie (a family friend we got to meet up with) holding Katrien
Katrien and April are looking over the edge.
April ran through the sprinklers to try to cool off.

Strike a poseIn this picture, if you look closely, is a nun pushing a stroller... kind of an oxymoron, if you will...haha!

Uncle Kenny did a great job pushing Katrien around so she would stay asleep.
Hard Rock Cafe was our lunch stop.
We are sitting in front of a stained glass window of Elvis on his throne of Rock and Roll!
And we will end this very long blog with a cute picture of Kiera smiling!
It was such a great trip and we loved being able to do it with family!!!

Strickland Family Visit... part I

This past week we had Mike's family from CA (and Texas: Kenny) come and visit! It was so great to have them here and for them to play with their grandchildren and just have a good time. I made sure to take a lot of pictures to help document their visit!

Grandpa and Katrien are drawing!
Katrien and April are blowing bubbles on the front porch.
Just looking cute!
They are so cute and had such fun with each other all week long! Thanks April!

We went to Family First Sports Park in Erie, PA and played in their bounce house maze!

Uncle Kenny watched Kiera for a while.
Next we went to dinner for Mom's (Sharon's) birthday to celebrate.
(We didn't get to sit together though.... ugh, stupid restaurant!
The girls got to draw with chalk while we were waiting:

We got bored waiting too...haha
This was our waitress who announced to the restaurant that is was Sharon's b-day.
(Sharon, that was all your sons doings!)
The guys had to make up for lost time and pick on each other.

All together it was a wonderful visit and we can't wait till we can all get together again! We really cherish the time we get to spend with them and appreciate them taking the trek!
(See the second part of this post about our trip to Washington DC!)
